We're a 50-person B2B SaaS company building AI tools for patent search. We're looking for an experienced designer who cares deeply about craft and is passionate about solving real, complex customer problems.

You’ll work closely with our lead designer, marketing designer, product managers and engineering team to bring ideas to life. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys making things, shaping product direction through design, and building systems that drive agentic product creation.

What you'll do

• Own areas of product design for our patent product suite, ranging from search and analytics to patent protection tools

• Design dense, powerful interfaces for patent professionals who need precision and context over pure aesthetics

• Run your own user research: talk to users, validate designs, build your own domain knowledge and intuition, and advocate for user needs

• Partner with product and engineering: ship fast, iterate based on what actually works for users

• Evolve our design system to support agentic product development - from rapid prototyping through to production-ready, principle-aligned code.

• Design innovative, AI-native features with a sharp eye on emerging patterns and the standards set by other world-class AI products

• Raise the bar for the team through your work: other designers and colleagues will learn by working alongside you

• Do whatever needs doing: marketing materials, customer slide decks, helping debug CSS. This is a startup, so be ready to roll up your sleeves and change tyres if that's what it takes to ship.

• You have the openness, willingness and skills to adapt, explore and build in the fast-moving agentic design and coding era, and to also support and enable your teammates using emerging design technology

• You're an expert with Figma, but know when to vibe code with Claude Code (or whichever tool fits)

What you need

• Strong product design craft and expertise

• Portfolio showing complex B2B/SaaS work (especially data-heavy interfaces)

• Experience doing your own user research (plan studies, run interviews, translate insights)

• A deep enough understanding of AI products to design trustworthy, explainable interfaces. Bonus points for examples of shipped, AI-oriented features or products

• Good, proactive communication skills that allow you to explain complex concepts clearly and succinctly, and keep relevant stakeholders in the loop

• Track record of shipping products in ambiguous, fast-changing environments where you were able to successfully balance priorities and find the right blend of speed and quality for each project

• Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment with openness and confidence - not ego
